The End of Web Browsers - Web 2.0 - Adobe Flex is Coming

All the fancy stuff that browsers will never get right: blur, wipe, zoom, video-type transitions, stretch-to-fit web pages... all the goodies.

Essentially, the Flex Framework produces Flash Apps using a familiar looking XML mark-up language, MXML. Flex Builder, the development environment, is based on Eclipse - the open source Java IDE.

Check out the Flex Explorer - Adobe's demo of the Flex Framework. It shows the functionality of the components with a view of the MXML mark-up.

Introducing the new Dynamic Flash slideshow. The slideshow has been developed with Adobe Spry AJAX - standard equipment for Dreamweaver CS3. The ordinary web page is transformed into a web application (web app) with the facilities provided by AJAX. Flash objects (SWF files) are loaded and removed without the need to refresh the browser window. This makes the web page faster, smoother and smarter utilising the awesome power of today's desktop computer.

The slideshow utilizes: AJAX, XML, XPATH, data sets, Flash movies, etc.

Jon Wojkowski welcomes British musician, Ben Walker as the latest member of the OrdinaryWebsite family. Ben's website is driven by WordPress blog software, with numerous modifications by Mesh Graphics, including a customized MP3 media player with XML playlist.
